| [[OOC: I guess I'm starting~]]
~Matthew Williams~
It was dawn, just mere minutes before the reaping in the central park. Every year, since I was twelve years old, I had always been nervous about the annual reaping, even though I only put my name in as many times as I needed to. My family was doing pretty well, so we didn't ever need the extra food. It just risked my life even more. I was apparently the only child in my family, though I kept having the feeling that I had a sibling of some sort, and I could never shake the thought. They probably died of sickness when you were young. I always told myself.
"Matthew, it's time to get ready!" My mother called from downstairs. I tore my gaze away from the window, where it had been fixated on the pine forest. The pines felt like home to me ever since I saw them, and they always will. I went downstairs to where my mother was waiting, my reaping clothes already on. It was a smart looking dark brown suit and a pair of matching trousers. I also wore black dress shoes and a dark red tie.
My mother smiled at me. "You look well, dear." She said. I nodded. I turned away, my fears of being chosen for the games renewed. "When we get back from the reaping, I'll help make pancakes for lunch," I told her softly. I headed to the door, and turned the knob, opening it and going outside, walking towards the central park. We only lived a couple of minutes away, so it didn't take long to reach it.
In no time, I was standing with the other fifteen year old boys, waiting for the Capitol Escort to start his annual speech. The escort was Stingy Effercourt, a flamboyant man with bright orange hair and a strong accent I heard was Australian, or something. "Happy Hunger Games, District Seven! And may the odds be ever in your favour!" He twilled, and began his usual boring Dark Days speech. When he finished, he started the reaping. "Of course, ladies first." Stingy chose the girls' name, announcing someone that I knew from school, and she stepped up, a somber expression on her face.
Then Stingy turned to the boys' name ball, and after a little fishing around for show, he selected one and ripped it open, without a shed of elegance. "And for the boys'..." He lets the words hang in the air for suspense.
"Matthew Williams."
The rest of the reaping was a blur. I walked up, unaware of anything now, only the fact that my name had been drawn. And I considered it a death sentence. He could've just said, "Matthew Williams, you shall die soon." and it wouldn't have changed the way I was feeling, my stomach tying knots and flipping. If that was even possible.
I took my place at the top of the stage, and shook hands with the girl tribute. Her expression matches exactly how I was feeling - scared, sadness... And then we were quickly sent off onto the train without another moment's notice. As I looked out the window of the train, I could see my whole district waving goodbye. It had just been another normal reaping to them, and they had no idea what it was like to get chosen for the Hunger Games. No idea.
As we rode along to the Capitol, we were allowed to watch the other districts' reaping. All of them seem to blur together without any distinction, except for District 1's. The boy tribute. He had a whole lot of attitude, and strutted onto stage like a proud bird or something, but there was no mistaking it. Alfred F. Jones was his name, I think. But I didn't really care what his name was.
Because I had just found my long lost twin brother.

| [[OOC: K :3 OH CANY YOU. YOUR AVATAR IS SO DISTRACTING. NUFF SAID.]] ~Alfred F. Jones~ "Alfreeeed! Wake up already! It's only five minutes until the reaping and you're still in bed!" I awoke up my father shaking me vigorously. What a nice way to wake me up, dude. "Ugh... do I have to go to old Gewgaw's reaping blah blah stuff again...?" I grumbled, throwing the bed sheets off of me. I had been sleeping in my 'Who is your hero' shirt, so between that and my messy bed head, I must've looked pretty unfit for the reaping, because my dad was frowning at me. "Okay, fine." I changed into the reaping clothes that were lying on my dresser. It was a black suit and a blue tie. Nothing too snazzy. "C'mon, Al. You're going to be late!" My father growled at me, his voice low. "Okay okay calm down! I'm comin'!" I followed him out the door, not hesitating. It wasn't worth wasting my time. Besides, I was going to see it in half an hour again, right? Wrong. As Mr. Gewgawtheguywhomustalwayslookasidioticaspossible fished for some, I could've sworn he could sense which one was mine. He pulled it out and ever so gracefully in his own, sickening way, he slit open the envelope and read out my name: "Alfred Jones."Trying to appear confident, I strolled casually onto the stage, even though I felt kind of scared inside. "Any volunteers?" Gewgaw asked the silent crowd. No one volunteered. And minutes later, I was on a speeding train, watching the faces of District 1 fly by the window. [[OOC: Lame post, but whatever :T]] | |

| ~Ivan Braginski~
My alarm clock went off. I woke up and hit the sleep button. I yawned and streached. "Ah, another day" I yawned. "I should probably get ready for the reaping." I got out of bed and changed into my reaping clothes. I walked to the reaping, which was in the center of the district. It was a half hour walk.
When I got to the reaping I stood with the other people my age. I wasn't worried much, I was one of the best careers in my age group. I watched as the Tribute Picker walked onto the stage. I didn't catch his name and I didn't want to ask anyone for his name. He tapped the mic and spoke with his capitol accent. "Happy Hunger Games, District Two! And may the odds be ever in your favor!" He said. No one was making any noises. "As usual, ladies first." I dug into the bowl and picked up a piece of paper and called the name. It was a girl only the age of 14. "And now the gentlemen." I watched carefully as he picked up a card then dropped it back into the bowl. You can feel the tension in the air. Someone just avoided The Hunger Games. He picked up a card and read it aloud.
"Ivan Braginski"
There was an short silence until some kid in my math in science class spoke. "Ivaaaaaaaaaan!" He said rudely. But he "You're so gonna get kiiiiiiiilled. You're such and idiot." I really hated him, everyone does. When I get back I'm so gonna kill him.
I stepped forward and walked onto the stage. "Shake hands" The guy told us. The girl and I did so.
Minutes later we where on the train, District Two leaving our sight

| ~Alfred F. Jones~ "Dinner, Alfred!" Gewgaw called from the dining room. I ran over - I hadn't eaten anything so far, so I was starving. Sure, I shouldn't be starving at nine thirty in the morning, but that was just me. Oh well. I walked into the dining room, instantly met with a large dining table full of... food. My mouth watered, and my expression must've been priceless because Gewgaw cracked a large, toothy smile and lead me to a chair. "Wow... all of this... for me?" I asked, stupefied. He nodded, still wearing the creepy grin on his face. I stared in disbelief at all of the food, wondering what to eat first. I started on the lamb stew, eating so quickly that I barely chewed. The girl from my district, Gewgaw, my mentor and all of the Avoxes glared at me, but I ignored them. [[OOC: I picture him doing that. ]] | |

"Maaaaattthew! Matthew? Earth to Matthew!" I heard Stingy calling my name, but it felt distant. I shook my head to clear my thoughts. No, Matthew. That cant be your twin brother. You're an only child, remember? But the thought kept nagging me, even through dinner. Stingy had to ask me several times if I was feeling alright, because I kept spacing out. I would just nod and say 'yeah', but I could tell he wasn't buying it. Eventually he suggested that I should probably go to bed. I agreed, yawning loudly before exiting the room to go to my room. I quickly climbed into bed, neglecting to change -I was too exhausted- and fell asleep.

When I was finished eating all I could eat until I felt like my stomach would explode, I laid back in my chair, feeling pretty content. "Are you ready for bed, Alfred?" Gewgaw asked me, raising an eyebrow. I nodded, getting up from my seat and going to my room, which was in a separate train car. I changed into some silk pyjamas -even though I didn't really care what material they were- and climbed into bed, falling asleep some how. I was still a bit nervous about the games, but I had a feeling that I could win them.

"Matthew! Wake up already!"
I awoke to Stingy calling my name. "Eh...? Oh... five more minutes please." I mumbled, covering my head with my pillow. "Five... more..." Suddenly, the door swung wide open, and Stingy walked in. I looked up, a little annoyed. "I said -" The escort held up a bucket and spilled it's contents all over me - burning hot water. Some how he had learned of my inability to get cold, so he decided on pouring scalding water over me. How rude! "H-hey! GET THIS WATER OFF OF ME!" I shouted angrily, pushing the now laughing man out of my room and slamming the door in his face.
Right after that ordeal, I had to change my clothes, and then I returned to the dining car of the train, still feeling mad about the boiling water. I didn't speak to anyone as I ate.

"Alfred! Wake up! Breakfast is ready!"
Breakfast? I quickly kicked off my covers, eager to get something to eat. I changed out of my pyjamas into some casual clothes and walked into the dining room, ignoring any strange looks I got from the other tribute. The other Reapings were still playing, and it was currently showing Distinct Seven. I didn't recognise the first one but the second tribute look awfully familiar. According to the Reaping, his name was Matthew Williams. Is it a coincidence that they look almost like me? Well, I can't pay attention to that now. If I let those thoughts fog up my mind, I won'y be able to play the games properly.
